College Writing 151, Enrollment Information
Pre-requisites & Priorities |
Students interested in enrolling in College Writing 151 must have fulfilled the university's reading and composition 1A and 1B requirements; that is, students cannot be concurrently fulfilling the R&C requirement. In addition, students must have:
**Please note: Class standing and level are not the same. Class STANDING is based on the number of college-level course units a student has completed, which may include AP credits. In contrast, class LEVEL is based on time at a college or university. A junior or senior class level, thus, assumes the completion of least four semesters on campus, regardless of the number of units a student may have completed; students transferring into UC Berkeley must be transferring in as a junior or senior. Priorities Students with a declared graduation date at the end of this semester will have enrollment priority, followed by students scheduled to graduate next semester. As space allows, the class may admit students expecting to graduate in three semester, but these students may not necessarily be moved into the course prior to the first class meeting. Students scheduled to graduate in four or more semesters are not eligible to enroll in the course at this time. |
Procedures |
College Writing Programs has set priority enrollment restrictions to ensure eligible students (see above) can enroll directly in the course, as space allows. If students cannot enroll, it may be that the student has not met the pre-requisites, or that the university has not yet processed information verifying the student's eligibility.
Regardless of their enrollment status, students interested in the course should plan to attend the first week of class. Because College Writing Programs offers one section of the course each year, faculty cannot hold places for students; therefore, students who are not in attendance will be dropped from the roster (or bypassed on the waitlist) to accommodate eligible students in attendance. |
